T.S.O.L.-EP 12"

(((re-post from Nov. 12/09@4:23pm)))
(((well i've decided to re-post something and here it is. released on posh boy records and i'm not sure on the pressings but more than one for sure. only album by them that i like. their first lp has some good tracks but mostly i'm not a fan. my copy of this is pretty thrashed so it's very crackely, but i like it that way. all in all great first release!)))
tsol short for "true sounds of liberty." this was one of the first hardcore records i'd ever heard. since then i've tried to get this album. initially i though this was a 7" because i found it on 7inchpunk (website). so i didn't buy it because all the ones for sale said 12". recently i found out it is a 12", so (hopefully there are some 7" bootlegs out there).
1. superficial love 5/5 (best song on here. fast.)
2. property is theft 5/5 (great vocals. also fast.)
3. no way out 5/5 (nice vocals.)
4. abolish government/silent majority 4/5 (not a fan of the chanting thing.)
5. world war III 4/5 (it's fast.)
overall: 9/10 recommended (easily available on CD with some other record on it too. if i didn't say it enough times already: 12" 7" 12" 7" 12" 7" 12 " 7" 12" 7" there you go.)

  1. ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha what a fucking stupid site 7inchpunk is! i mean fuckin this ain't a fuckin 7! i got it from 7inchpunk but i'm deleting that shit and sticking to yours. just more proof that these guys get shit from tapes which is not a bad thing if you have a good tape player you can make it sound really good but the cunts who post at 7inchpunk um do not. oh and i signed up for 7inchpunk just to see how it's done and it scared me how easy it is to sign up and the guy will post anything. great record thanks. tsol rules. jack is amazing.

  3. that was the fuming scary part. i just signed up and i read his little directions on how to post. he didn't have anything to say about make sure it's from the vinyl or anything. yeah crazy mofo.

  4. yep. what a site. a remember a post, and the music skipped. the guy denied that the songs skip. then the 7"punk guy says to the other guy "why are you complaining about free music." like come on guy, clearly the songs skipped. they're not even nice to their visitors. assholes. although it has given me good records (since then i have bought those records, so).

  9. abolish government/silent majority...I always hear Token Entry in these tracks, only in a few spots but it's there to my ears. This is a great record and my favorite TSOL recordings as well.

  10. yeah the best. never really liked anything else by them, just a few other songs. never actually heard anything by token entry. were they big in the mid to late 80's?

  11. Token Entry Late 80's NYHC band. More skate punk style though.

  16. I think these guys went to shit after "Dance With Me" - which for me is still fast and punky, with a little horror thrown in for good measure. Have you reviewed the Subhumans "The Day the Country Died", or Tightrope's "Can I Borrow a Feeling" EP?

    ReplyDelete
  17. yeah they did. no haven't reviewed those. i don't even know what the tightrope's ep is. old/new?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Tightrope are new and Canadian (I believe). Kind of fast melodic skate punk.

  19. didn't slayer cover one of these songs? still a very good record.
