We Still Can't Help It If We're From Florida Compilation 7"

i really love compilations. you get introduced to some really great bands and wish you could hear more from them. then on the flip side there are really bad bands that you wish you never hear again. this 7" compilation however is actually pretty great all the way through. this was the second installment of the florida compilations and it was made in 1992 on Burrito records. tons were pressed because they said that they always wanted there records to be cheap and easy to buy. i really enjoy their thoughts and because of them you can pick this up for around $2.50. this release comes with a fantastic large insert. check it out in the scans.

now on this 7" there is a mix of old and newer bands, well new for the 90's. this comp starts with an EBS track and i honestly thought it was from the 80s. nope, it's a song off of their 1991 release, crazy. next is a song from No Fraud which is awesome. No Fraud's first 7" from 1986 is great. Slap of Reality were a new band as you can probably tell by the sounds of it. it's not bad actually but doesn't fit in with the other songs at all. then Backwash deliver my favourite track on here. the track is from a 3 song demo they did. it sounds very similar to Sin 34. Maggot Sandwich are next. their first two releases are what made them one of my favourite bands. however these two tracks are pretty bad and don't sound anything like the Maggot Sandwich i know. well a Florida punk comp wouldn't be complete without Roach Motel. the song they supply was an unreleased one given to the label by the guitarist on a cassette. then Chickenhead give a pretty great little track. they released only one 7" in the year of my birth 1993. and lastly an obscure song by Milk and Cookies. i doubt they were even a real band. just listen to the 1 second song.

a-side
1. E.B.S.-Police Pricks 5/5 (sounds old.)
2. No Fraud-Identity Crisis 5/5 (love the vocals.)

b-side
2. Maggot Sandwich-Fuck That Funk 0/5 (i love funk.)
3. Maggot Sandwich-Hambone Of The Gods 3/5 (originally called Led Zeppelin sucks.)

overall: 7/10 recommended
a pretty great comp overall. the only bad songs are all over in 5 seconds anyway. so yeah, check out the awesome insert in the scans.

The Shitlickers-Cracked Cop Skulls EP 7"

is it The Shitlickers or The Shit Lickers? well...... i went with the first one. anyway this post goes along with the anti-cimex one i just did. as i said before, this was bootlegged onto a 7" with the a-side being this entire ep and the b-side having the entire anti-cimex anarkist attack 7". that's why you'll only see one side of the vinyl in the scans. more raging swedish punk for you. originally released on Malign Massacre in 1982. now i'm not sure on the pressing info but i'll give it a shot. if anybody can help me on facts, do so. it was originally released with the cover linked here. i don't like it very much. then The Export records repressed this and it came with the cover above. and the final press is the same cover as above only in red, not white. now i know that's probably wrong so help me out. seeing as i will never own the anti-cimex original 7", i bought this bootleg. cheap alternative. all the songs are under a minute, beautiful.
1. war system 5/5 (nice.)
4. armed revolution 5/5 (done.)
overall: 10/10 strongly recommended
nice, fast listen. short fast rules!

The Nunfuckers-Dead And On The Floor 7"

so you are probably wondering what an album released in 1987 is doing on my blog. well most of the time i only like punk from late 70's to 85' and now 2005-today. but there are some good ones in between. so i bought a record recently (scared straight 7", next post) and the guy gave me two free records, this and the egg hunt 7" which he hated. now that i think about it i should have scanned the little note that was attached to it. it said "ontario's best." oh well, too late now. so anyway i got this in the mail and popped it on, not expecting anything. i thought from the looks of the cover that it would be one of those thrash/crossover records, but it's not. it's pretty much hardcore punk. although from the first song with the double-kick bass drum, it's sounds like it's gonna be a metal record (sorry elliott). punk from waterloo, ontario. not much else to say, have a listen. a lot of songs for a 7", all short. lots of crackle, more on b-side, and that's the way i like it. let me know if the download links download the entire track because it was awfully fast uploading them.
1. decimation 5/5 (fast.)
2. movin on 4/5 (stop and go.)
3. snap 5/5 (great.)
4. my shit 5/5 (short, nice.)
5. up your ass with all your gossip 5/5 (even shorter, even as good.)
6. social butterfly 4/5 (i like it.)
7. blood bath 4/5 (whoa.)
8. burning chemicals 5/5 (my favourite.)
9. my mom and dad 3/5 (good.)
10. cheap friends 5/5 (reminds me of the first song on the graven image 7". great guitar riff.)
11. spoiled brats 4/5 (nice.)
overall: 8/10 strongly recommended
i'd never heard nor scene this before. thanks to RJ for the free copy. done.

Agnostic Front-United Blood 7"

that's right, it was agnostic front. so, i've got no clue what this album is. it's so intense. when i first heard this record i listened to it nonstop. then i wandered off it. but lately i've been listening to it and found out why i played it so much in the first place. good, fast record. their second record "victim in pain" is really good as well. their third album "cause for alarm" is decent but anything after that isn't very to good. back to this record. the songs are really short (sometimes even complicated).
1. No One Rules 5/5 (huge "GO" at the beginning to start of the album.)
2. Final War 4/5 (most intense song.)
3. Last Warning 4/5 (good build up.)
4. Traitor 5/5 (fast.)
5. Friend or Foe 5/5 (great song.)
6. United Blood 5/5 (best song on here. slow-fast.)
7. Fight 4/5 (14 seconds long. every song should be this long.)
8. Discriminate 4/5 (nice.)
9. In Control 5/5 (AH.)
10. Crucial Changes 4/5 (singer, right at the end "blah".)
overall: 8.5/10 recommended, this album is pretty much one big song. most songs sound the same, but no complaints.
(i listened to this record about 50 times while writing this review, 51)
